At least 53 people, including 11 children, were killed and 16 others were missing after a fierce fire broke out in a shopping mall in the southern central Russian city of Kemarovo.

Local news agency Sputnik told the Russian Investigation Committee spokesman Svetlana Petranko that the bodies were recovered on Monday morning. The news agency said that on the upper floor of the four-storey building of Winter Cherry Mall (Jimvaya Vishnaya), a fire broke out on Sunday afternoon and it got its share of over 1,500 square meters of building.

The reasons for the fire in the mall have not been detected yet. Many videos on social media are getting viral in which people jump from the windows to avoid flames. According to the news of the BBC, at the time the fire started, most of the people were watching movies in the cinema hall of the mall.
