In order to spread awareness about Sikhism, the annual Sikh Day Parade was organized in Manhattan city of the US.
New York, Patriarch To spread awareness about Sikhism, the Sikh Day Parade was organized on Saturday in Manhattan city of the US. Thousands of Sikhs came to participate in wearing their traditional dress and turban. The aim of this event was to make people aware about racial violence against the Sikh community.

New York Police Commissioner James O'Neill and Hoboken Mayor Ravinder S. Bhalla also participated in the parade. O Neil later said in a tweet, "It is a matter of respect for me to be a part of the parade. Our city is becoming synonymous with diversity. Similarly, we are committed to diversifying the New York Police Department. '

"This parade is a celebration of our culture," said Chandpreet Singh, co-founder of Sikh Off New York, organized in the event. Since 9/11, Sikh community has faced hateful violence many times. We hope that such events will help people to tell that Sikhs are just like Americans or other people. "

The parade also included live music band, marching band and children's performances. During this time the flags of Sikh martial arts were shown and the anchor was also organized.
