The Hawaii County Civil Defense has asked about 1,700 people living in the Lonipuna Garden area to take shelter at the nearby community building as soon as possible.
Honolulu, AP: After the explosion in the Kilayo Volcano located in the US State of Hawaii on Friday, large quantities of lava have emerged and spread to nearby areas. Emergency has been announced in Hawaii due to the explosion in Kilau in the world's most active volcano. The blast has affected most Lelni Estate areas. The Hawaii County Civil Defense has asked about 1,700 people living in the Lonipuna Garden area to take shelter at the nearby community building as soon as possible.
Volcanic eruption has increased the amount of sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere. The local and central administration had issued an alert about the volcano in the beginning of this week. Hundreds of earthquakes were felt in this area before the blast. The intensity of the sharpest shock was five measured. Earlier, in 1924 the lava and the stones fell out after the explosion in Kiloy.
